The main dealing subjects of the programme are the organisms, such as insects and mites, abiotic and biotic factors (fungi, bacteria, phytoplasma, spiroplasma, virus, viroid and nematodes) and weeds causing economic losses to the cultivated plants. In that teaching programme, mechanical, physical, chemical, biological and biotechnological control strategies are introduced. The department has the sufficient requirements for the various plant protection activities. Modern equipped laboratories, almost 40 da research and applying area, greenhouse and chamber rooms enable researches to the entomology and phytopathology fields within the department.
